Robin Hulbert's 2010/11 season blog - entry 2
FIRST of all I must send my wishes to everyone connected to Adam Stansfield.
I was deeply saddened to hear the sad news of his death following a battle with cancer.
Even though I did not know him, it really does put football into context.
I know there are lots of other families who have been through, or who are going through, this pain. My heart goes out to all them.
Saturday’s result at Histon was disappointing, but we must stay positive and not dwell on one result.
Yes it would have been great to bring three points home but this was not the case.
The important thing now is that we get three points tonight. There is no reason why we should not.
It is, though, totally different to pre-season, which is totally false. The only thing pre-season represents is getting fit.
Either way, you cannot look at results because league games and playing for points is far more competitive.
I am confident we will win tonight. It will be a tough game, but hopefully we can get the three points and that will build our platform and standard for the games that follow.
Let’s take it game by game - that starts with three points tonight.
I am sure we will have great support for our first home game. No doubt the Holker Street faithful will be our 12th man.
Let’s make Holker Street a real hostile and daunting place to come this season. Let’s not allow any team to leave with any easy points.
Enjoy and be patient.
