Missing Ulverston man on National Database

AN Ulverston man not seen since January 20 has been added to a national database of missing people.

Police have registered Stewart Griffiths, 48, of Steel Street, with the Missing People Charity.

His profile can be seen by anyone who visits www.missingpeople.org.uk.

The charity provides assistance in the search of missing people with publicity posters, web appeals and in the media via a network of media partners who make regular appeals on the charity’s behalf.

Sergeant Rupert Johnston of Ulverston police said: “We have still got leads to follow, such as people he has known from previous jobs.”

An underwater search of Ulverston Canal by the North West Police Underwater Search and Marine Unit took place last Wednesday.

And the British Transport Police searched the rail line.

Mr Griffiths was last seen leaving the Cattle Market pub, Ulverston, at around midnight on January 20 on his white-coloured mountain bike. He is described as white, slim and six feet tall.

He wears glasses and has receding, light brown hair.
