Skydive raises money for Alzheimers society
Charlotte Wills of Ulverston Inner Wheel club, raises nearly £3000 for Alzheimers research with a 14,000 feet parachute jump
Charlotte Wills, of the Ulverston Inner Wheel Club decided to celebrate her 70th birthday with a charity sky dive and on November 5th, at Flookburgh airfield her dream came true. It was a tandem jump with a qualified instructor and on a beautiful sunny day they leapt into the skies at 14,000ft and came down to earth without a hitch.
As a result of her sky dive plucky Charlotte raised close to £3000 and on the 14th November at the Ulverston Rotary club's Ladies night, she presentaed a cheque for £400 to Rotary District 1190 Governor, Ron Duxbury, for his chosen charity, the local Alzheimers Society. Of this £300 was raised through sponsorship by Ulverston Inner Wheel Club and the Rotary Club of Ulverston of which her husband Mike is a stalwart member plus a further £100 donated by her niece.
Charlotte also raised a further £2555 which she is donating to Alzheimers Research UK. What a wonderful birthday present and well done Charlotte!
