Golden anniversary of Ulverston artists

ULVERSTON Society of Artists is celebrating a very special anniversary this week.

By Nicola Park ULV WRAP

Mary Burkitt, former director of Lakes Art Gallery and Abbot Hall Art Gallery and Museum, is set to open the exhibit.

The exhibition, in the Supper Room, will then be on display to the public from Thursday to Saturday.

It will be open from 9am to 5pm each day and there will be around 140 exhibits on display.

Many items will be on sale and a percentage of the proceeds will be given to local charities.

The society’s 50th anniversary year book, priced at £3.70, will also be on sale.
